DO I HAVE TO BE IN GRADE 6 TO APPLY?
Yes, you must be currently in Grade 6 to apply for an Amathuba scholarship.
WHAT HIGH SCHOOL WILL I ATTEND IF I AM SELECTED AS AN AMATHUBA SCHOLAR ?
You will be placed with one of The Amathuba Foundation partner schools. Scholar placement is a collaborative effort between The Amathuba Foundation and the partner schools.
HOW CAN MY SCHOOL BECOME A PARTNER SCHOOL?
Please drop us an email ( info@amathubafoundation.org ) with a brief description of your school and someone will contact you to discuss how our partnership models works.
IF I BECOME A DONOR, WILL I KNOW WHERE/WHO/WHAT THE MONEY I HAVE DONATED IS GOING TO?
Yes, absolutely. Our values of belonging, communication, relationships, integrity, and gratitude apply to our donors/funders too. You will hear from us regularly and will be updated timeously after our annual audits are processed. If you donate via Zapper or EFT, please email us so that we have your contact details.
DO I HAVE TO BE SOUTH AFRICAN?
Yes, you must be a South African citizen.
WHAT DO I NEED TO SUBMIT TO COMPLETE MY APPLICATION?
You need to send us: the application form, complete with your personal information, Grade 5 & 6 school report, unabridged birth certificate (certified copy), parents/guardian ID copies (certified), and parent/guardian financial information (payslips or affidavits).
WHAT IS A CHAMPION TEACHER?
This is a carefully appointed individual employed at the partner high school who volunteers to walk alongside the scholar and his/her family for the duration of their five years and is the key link for all communication between the school and the Amathuba Foundation. This is preferably someone that the scholar would naturally gravitate towards and share common interests.
